With these tools in mind, here are just a few events happening over the first Saturday, Sunday, and Monday of September, 2017:

Muslims everywhere will have already begun observing Eid al-Adha, the Feast of Sacrifice. It is a time for prayer, and for visiting with friends and family. Many with livestock slaughter an animal and donate the meat to the needy, while others contribute to charities that support this cause.

In the United States and Canada, Labor Day is always observed on the Monday following the first weekend in September, creating a three-day weekend for many. Cities often celebrate with parades commemorating the holiday, but there are also other activities that make the most of what many regard as the last weekend of summer. This year, they include the Unicycle Festival in New York City, the African Festival of the Arts in Chicago, three major league baseball games in San Francisco, and the final weekend of the Canadian National Exhibition in Toronto.

In Lille, France, the Braderie de Lille will take place on Saturday and Sunday.  It is the largest annual street market in Europe, dating back nine centuries and featuring over 10,000 vendors.

The Salak Yom Festival will begin on Sunday. Held each year in Lamphun, Thailand, this Yong festival features tall bamboo trees constructed with colorful rods, upon which gifts are draped for local Buddhist monks and spirits of the deceased.

In Cape Town, South Africa, you’ll find the third annual Street Food Festival, featuring talks from local restaurateurs, a market, over 30 vendors, and great local cuisine. If you’re looking for something to do the following weekend, this festival moves to Johannesburg.

Whether you’re working or weekending, the International Relocation Center will give you the foundation you need to succeed and have some fun, too!
