How does Living Abroad help me do my job?
Save Time: Do you get interrupted throughout your day answering assignee questions about soft issues? Most of the answers to these questions can be found in the International Relocation Center’s country reports. This resource allows you to serve assignees, and use your time more effectively.
Get Successful Results: You should also be able to report more successful relocations for your assignees, as they are better equipped with knowledge that helps the family acclimate, as well as critical information to guide the businessperson’s conduct in the new country.
How long has Living Abroad been in business?
The company was founded in 1987. Living Abroad has grown from offering 84 destinations to over 230+.
Who are your clients?
Any corporation that has an international presence can benefit by using the International Relocation Center as a resource. Most of our client companies have a sizable assignee population, but we also work with companies just starting to expand into the international arena.
Over the past quarter of a century we have worked closely to support companies in many industries including: accounting, broadcasting, computer technology, construction, education, government contracts, hospitality, insurance, payroll, petroleum, pharmaceuticals, product manufacturers, and relocation… and many more.
How are you different from other companies that might provide country information?
Established in 1987; Living Abroad is still the #1 provider of detailed, relevant, easy-read, country-specific reports for over 180 destinations that no other company can match.
While other companies say they provide country information for your relocating employees, Living Abroad is the only company that has a dedicated, experienced editorial staff and in-country contacts to make sure the information is always up-to-date.
That means if you are moving employees around the globe, or managing business travelers, you can tap into over 25 years of experience, a wealth of trusted information, and an exclusive suite of innovative tools to remove the all guesswork from your assignments.
Why can’t the assignee go on the Internet and look for this information?
The Internet has an overwhelming amount of out-of-date, unreliable information on foreign destinations. Our information is vetted to make sure it’s accurate. Years of experience, and dedicated ‘in-country staff’ give us the edge in knowing just where to find certain information.
What type of information do you provide?
The International Relocation Center is a comprehensive information source for assignees and business travelers. Key pre-departure requirements, in-depth country orientation and living-in information, as well as business and social customs give the traveler an unparalleled country view. For all topics covered, see here.
How many destinations do you have online?
Living Abroad has 200+ destinations online and growing. We offer more than 60 U.S. Cities, and 10 regional reports. Our complete list can be found at https://www.livingabroad.com/international-relocation-center/#destinations
Do you have different subscription levels?
Yes, we offer different subscription levels based on the number of destinations that suit your needs.
- Tier 1 – All destinations (180+)
- Tier 2 – 26-50
- Tier 3 – 11-25
- Tier 4 – 1-10
How long are the subscriptions?
Employee relocation assignments are all unique so we offer one, two and three year subscriptions. Plus, for business travellers and smaller assignments we offer access for only 90 days at a special rate.
How do my employees get access?
Giving your employees access is very simple. Once you decide on the number of destinations you need, we set up a unique URL for you. You will receive the link by email, and then your IT department will place the link on your intranet. You may place the link in as many places on your company site as you would like.
Why would we place the link in places other than those intended for our relocating employees and business travelers?
Many of our clients use the International Relocation Center as a recruitment resource for new international job postings. Having access to this information gives potential assignees a good idea of what life would be like living in their new destination.
Some other places to post the link would be:
- International Human Resources
- Relocation and Moving
- Travel
- Corporate Library or Information Center
- Corporate Security
- International Marketing and Sales
- Job Openings
How do I get the word out to my company that we now subscribe to the International Relocation Center?
We will give you a launch guide with suggestions on how to promote the site internally. The guide includes an announcement you may modify to suit your company’s message. You will also receive a customizable two-page brochure that briefly describes the service. You can either print out the brochure to include in an assignee’s offer packet, or send it via email.
What other tools and resources come with my company’s subscription?
In addition to the IRC’s wealth of information, you will have access to the International Move Planner, which provides a customized list of detailed tasks to do before the actual move. The tasks link back to the country information, providing additional support and explanation.
Is access limited to relocating employees?
No, your subscription allows access to this valuable information for any employee who works for your company, anywhere in the world.
What if I don’t see the destination I need?
We continually add destinations to our list. If you do not see a particular destination, please contact us and we will add it to the queue for development. If you subscribe to all destinations, when a new destination is created, you’ll receive it automatically at no additional charge.
Do you offer anything for the family?
YES! The International Relocation Center is a great resource for families. There is a whole section devoted to spouses/partners and children. Often, they are the ones that have more time to spend accessing the site to prepare for relocation. There is also a complete resource of links for local clubs and organizations, international schools and housing areas, and information on pets.
Does Living Abroad offer any other services?
Living Abroad recently launched a new Global Mobility Portal, a relocation portal that is built uniquely for a client’s specific requirements. All documents and information a relocating employee needs are located in one spot. Once your portal is built, you are able to add and remove documents on your own. Find out more about the Global Mobility Portal HERE.
What about mobile access?
All destination reports on the International Relocation Center are mobile-friendly and accessible on all platforms.
What about cross-cultural solutions?
